On 9/11 19 islamic extremist hijacked 4 airlines and planned to suicide attacks on U.S soil. Two hijacked planes were on course to hit the two buildings of the world trade center in New york. An other plane was headed to the pentagon and the last of the planes was stopped by the passengers and crash landed in a field in Pennsylvania. In New York over 3,000 people were killed, 400 were police officers and fire fighters. 184 were killed at the pentagon, and 40 by the crash landing in Pennsylvania.
