Memorial day is a day on which those who died in active military service are remembered, traditionally observed on May 30, officially observed on the last Monday in May.
Ways to show respect and honor
- Show honor and respect by visiting a local veteran’s cemetery, or war memorial.
- Go to a Memorial Day Parade or watch the National Memorial Day Parade on television.
- Enjoy freedom by spending time with your family.
Things I will do is spend time with my family, watch the memorial day parade and visit a memorial for all the veterans who died.
Reflection: Memorial day is a day to honor all the American people who died in service. They paid the ultimate price for us by giving their lives for the United States. We must honor their sacrifices and pay respect to them and their families. I have a family member in service right now and I want to give him my respects just for being there serving our country. For the ones who gave their lives, they deserve all the respect they can get along with their families.
