Seven Habits

Habit 1: Be Proactive
“Habit 1 is the key to unlocking all the other habits and that’s why it comes first, it says, “I am the captain of my life. I can choose my attitude. I’m responsible for my own happiness or unhappiness. I am in the driver’s seat of my destiny, not just a passenger.”

Reflection: This means that we must be proactive rather than just follow along with what others assume is alright. We must take part if we feel different of something. Take part and know you are in control rather than feel dictated. We control almost every aspect of our lives and are not tied down, so we should not be made to look like we are. We must be proactive and do what we want and feel is right.

Habit 2: Being with the end in mind
“Control your own destiny or someone else will.”
(Jack welch)

Reflection: This means that we shouldn’t just ignore what we truly want for ourselves in life. We shouldn’t just let things go on as they are without your concern. No one should leave their destiny without a concern or a thought. If you do not control your own destiny someone one else will and you will be a slave to do what they want you to do and not what YOU want to do

Habit 3: Put First Things First
“Organize and execute around priorities.”

Reflection: This means to organize and put your priorities first. Things you need to get done should be done in a fast and reasonable time. We should not put other unnecessary things ahead of what we need to be a better person.

Habit 4: Think win-win
“Think win-win or no deal.”

Reflection: This means always think positive and confidently. Do not make exceptions at all, think of what it is you want in the end and go for it. Make it a goal to get it and not accept anything less. Win or else no one is going to want you if you are expecting less than what it is you want.

Habit 5: Seek First to Understand then to be Understood
“Diagnose before you prescribe.”

Reflection: This means you should always try to understand others before they try to understand you. Never put things first ahead without understanding things leading towards it.

Habit 6: Synergize
“The whole is greater than the sum of its parts (1+1=3).”

Reflection: This is the Habit of creative cooperation. It is teamwork, open-mindedness, and the adventure of finding new solutions to old problems. But it doesn't just happen on its own. It's a process, and through the process, people bring all their personal experience and expertise to the table.

Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw
Four Dimensions of self-renewal: physical, mental, spiritual, social/emotional

Reflection: This means that we should renew our selves and help ourselves. We should not continue once we are worn down, we must sharpen ourselves once again in things such as our physical aspects, mental health, spiritual life, and social/emotional lives. We must stay strong and sharp or else things will fly over our heads and will cause us to eventually crumble and let others walk over us.

Reflection: These tips can be applied to many things in our daily lives and can help us become a better person. If do not become proctive, we may never puth things first with the end in mind and synergize with others. We may never experience the happiness of win-winning if we do not understand rather than be understood. We must sharpen the saw in our daily lives to be refreshed and like new. If we are dull we will not want to carry out even the simplicest of task.
